WHAT ARE THEY
A new unique wipe designed to be used
before milking, Valiant Foam-Active
wipes are based on the popular Valiant
Foam-Active udder care product from
Genus ABS. These foaming wipes are a
convenient one-step prep, providing a
superior standard of pre-cleansing.
HOW DO THEY WORK
Valiant Foam-Active uses a specially
formulated combination of active ingredients,
resulting in a highly effective antibacterial
foaming disinfectant. We have
developed these new wipes as part of
our on-going commitment to innovation
and investment and from listening to our
customers needs.
The broad spectrum anti-bacterial action
of the wipes remains intact, even when
contaminated with 10% organic matter,
such as muck, milk or soil. They have
been proven in scientific laboratory trials
to be superior to other leading teat wipe
products currently available (see graph
one).
HOW TO USE...
• The solution is to be activated by
adding the catalyst into a drum of
Valiant Foam-Active.
• The roll of wipes is then placed into
the bucket provided and soaked for
a minimum of 10 minutes with the
activated Valiant Foam-Active.
• The wipes are then ready to use. It
is essential that one wipe per cow is
used to avoid cross contamination.
• The activated solution should be
used within 14 days.

FOCUS ON
MILKING ROUTINE
A SIMPLE, EFFECTIVE ROUTINE IS ESSENTIAL...
It is vital to have a consistently good standard
of milking routine, and it doesn’t have to
be complicated. Follow our four-step guide
below and don’t forget to wear gloves. Cracks
and contours on your hand harbour harmful
bacteria, so wearing gloves is imperative!
BENEFITS OF A GOOD MILKING ROUTINE...
• Clean teats, free from muck and dirt.
• A dramatic reduction in the number of
bacteria on the teat, preventing infection
during milking.
• A good pre-milking routine leaves cows
ready to milk out quickly decreasing
machine-on time and increasing milk yields
(see diagram one).
STEP ONE:

WIPE
This removes the milk with
the very highest cell count
from the teat. It also gives
the milker an opportunity
to check for clots that may
indicate an infection and it
most effectively stimulates
the cows milk let-down reflex.
Wipe the teats with the
Valiant Foam-Active wipes,
using one wipe per cow.
The anti-bacterial properties
begin to work as soon as the
foam contacts the teats. The
combination of the foam and
the wiping action leads to a
very effective clean as well.

At this stage the cow will be
thoroughly stimulated, will
be ready to be milked and is
likely to yield more too. The
cluster should be applied
soon after wiping.
After milking...
Within 30 seconds of the
cluster coming away from
the cow the teats should be
dipped or sprayed with one
of the Valiant post
milking range.
