An early departure from Merseyside and the Wirral to catch the HSS/ferry to Dun<br />
Laoghaire. We travel we our hotel in Tralee, stopping for lunch.<br />
A full day tour of 'The Ring of Kerry' via the narrow coastal road of the Iveragh<br />
Peninsular. The journey begins at Killorglin, famous for Puck Fair. We travel through<br />
Rossbeigh and Kells, to Caherciveen then through Waterville and Derrynane.<br />
Continue though Sneem and then Moll's Gap. Later we pass through the Killarney<br />
Valley and back to the hotel.<br />
A full day to enjoy free time in Tralee, the capital town of County Kerry.<br />
We take a full day to the Dingle Peninsula then head to Blennerville before<br />
continuing to Dingle. At Slea Head promontory the Blasket Islands come into full<br />
view and our return journey to Tralee takes in Annascaul, Inch and Castlemaine.<br />
Catch the ferry back to Holyhead and make our way home.<br />

Lisdoonvarna takes its name from "LIOS DUIN BHEARNA" the<br />
lios or enclosure of the fort in the gap and is thought to refer<br />
to the green earthen fort of LISSATEEAUN (fort of the fairy<br />
hill). The present town is a comparatively new one by Irish<br />
standards, dating mainly from the start of the 19 Century. It<br />
is the only active spa town in Ireland. The beneficial effects of<br />
its water were first noted by writers as early as 1740.<br />
Holiday Highlights<br />
Depart Merseyside early morning and travel to Holyhead for the HSS Ferry<br />
crossing to Dun Laoghaire. Later we continue to the hotel in Lisdoonvarna.<br />
A full day excursion to The Burren, a limestone region of approximately<br />
300 sq km which lies in the northwest corner of Co Clare, in Ireland. It contains<br />
dozens of megalithic tombs and celtic crosses and a ruined Cistercian Abbey.<br />
A full day of leisure to enjoy the delightful town of Lisdoonvarna.<br />
We visit Galway, a spectacularly beautiful county, it is a medley of contrasts -<br />
the wildest and remotest of countryside teamed with one of Europe's most<br />
vibrant and popular cities.<br />
After breakfast, we head to Dun Laoghaire to catch the ferry home.<br />
