How can we ensure that suppliers qualification is genuinely recognised at a European level so that it can occupy the place it deserves among existing confidence mechanisms Is it necessary to develop a European standard based on the French NF X50-091 standard, despite the failure of CEN (European Committee for Standardisation) and CENELEC (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardisation) in the 1990s Should we alternatively revert to general or industry specific mutual recognition agreements between the systems in different countries These are the issues that we wish to address at this evening’s round table. I will start proceedings by welcoming our speakers. Pierre Chemillier is Chairman of QUALIBAT. Gareth Kings comes from Great Britain and is representing Constructionline. Dr Rüdiger Kratzenberg represents the German Federal Ministry for Transport, Building and Urban Affairs. Isabelle Rimbert oversees the Services, Management and Consumer Affairs Department at AFNOR Normalisation. Nathalie Saveant manages the Department for the Certification of Enterprises, Staff and Environment at COFRAC. Lastly, Jan Van Der Putten is Secretary General of EFCA – the European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations.
