Welcome to our annual bull sale on March 15, 2013 at Midland <strong>Bull</strong> Test Center near<br />
Columbus, Montana.<br />
What an exciting time to be in the cattle business. Demand for Angus beef is at a<br />
record high and newly opened export markets are in the works. The national cattle<br />
inventory is at record lows. Together this makes for an exciting time to be in the Angus<br />
business.<br />
We are proud to offer you a great selection of over 200 quality bulls this year. These<br />
bulls are from just the top end of the respective herds, selected from over 350 bull<br />
calves weaned last fall.<br />
All of the bulls have been fed and performance tested at Midland <strong>Bull</strong> Test Center.<br />
Steve and Lindsay Williams and their crew have done a great job of developing the<br />
bulls.<br />
While the term “high roughage ration” may be overused in our industry, it is accurate<br />
as to how we fed the bulls this year. With feed costs high, we stuck to a relatively low<br />
energy growing ration, bringing the bulls along at just 3 pounds per day. That level<br />
of gain is enough to see the genetic potential for growth, but keeps the bulls in their<br />
“working clothes” and ready to go to work for you.<br />
We hope to see you on sale day. However, we realize with calving and busy schedules<br />
that is not always possible. Frontier Stockyards will be broadcasting live audio of the<br />
sale. See details about Frontier on page 1. Also, Bill Pelton will be conducting a “bid<br />
line” conference call. See details about the conference call on page 40. In addition,<br />
there will be a number of <strong>Sale</strong> Representatives available to assist you with your<br />
