Article 2<br />
State Parties agree to undertake:<br />
(a) To embody the pr<strong>in</strong>ciple of the equality of men and women<br />
<strong>in</strong> their national constitutions or other appropriate<br />
legislation<br />
(b)To adopt appropriate legislative and other measures,<br />
<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g sanctions where appropriate, prohibit<strong>in</strong>g all<br />
discrim<strong>in</strong>ation aga<strong>in</strong>st women;<br />
(c) To establish legal protection of the rights of women on an<br />
equal basis with men<br />
(d) To refra<strong>in</strong> from engag<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> any act or practice of<br />
discrim<strong>in</strong>ation aga<strong>in</strong>st women<br />
(e) To take all appropriate measures to elim<strong>in</strong>ate discrim<strong>in</strong>ation<br />
aga<strong>in</strong>st women by any person, organization or enterprise;<br />
(f) To take all appropriate measures, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g legislation, to<br />
modify or abolish exist<strong>in</strong>g laws, regulations, customs and<br />
practices which constitute discrim<strong>in</strong>ation aga<strong>in</strong>st women;<br />
(g) To repeal all national penal provisions which constitute<br />
discrim<strong>in</strong>ation aga<strong>in</strong>st women.
