A WORD FROM OUR SUPPORTERS
THE SOUTH SQUARE TRUST
The South Square Trust has been supporting students on
the Conservation of Metalwork programme at West Dean
College for over 20 years and West Dean is very grateful
for such generosity. The South Square Trust Scholars have
gone on to work in a wide variety of roles within the industry,
including conserving coins and medals at the Imperial War
Museums, working on a telescope project at the National
Maritime Museum, and even conserving items from Ernest
Shackleton’s hut in the Antarctic.
BADA
The British Antique Dealers’ Association (BADA) is the
longest-standing supporter of West Dean College. BADA
contributed to the creation of several of the full time diploma
programmes at West Dean and has since continued to work
closely with tutors and students at the College.
As part of this support, BADA funds the BADA Joan Eyles
Scholarship at West Dean. The Scholarship provides a full
year’s tuition fees for a student who is keen to join the vibrant
community of professionals providing conservation and
restoration services in the UK.
We have been delighted to have
such a long-term relationship with
West Dean. We share the passion for
conservation shown by the College, its
tutors and the students.
The Trustees,
The South Square Trust
The conservation courses benefit
from the practical knowledge and
experience provided by BADA antique
dealers, who share the College’s
passion for preserving our portable
heritage so that future generations may
enjoy it.
