municipal government<br />
raised the idea of<br />
developing an international<br />
biotech research and<br />
development cluster.<br />

提 出 建 设 国 际 性 生 物 技 术<br />
研 究 开 发 生 产 基 地 设 想 。<br />
2000<br />
In 2000, the project<br />
“<strong>Guangzhou</strong> <strong>International</strong><br />
<strong>Biotech</strong> <strong>Island</strong>” was officially<br />
approved by National<br />
Planning Commission.<br />
2000 年 获 国 家 计 委 ( 现 国<br />
家 发 改 委 ) 批 准 立 项 并 正 式<br />
命 名 为 “ 广 州 国 际 生 物 岛 ”。<br />

In 2001, <strong>Guangzhou</strong><br />
Development District<br />
Administrative Committee<br />
was designated to take<br />
charge of the development<br />
of <strong>Biotech</strong> <strong>Island</strong>.<br />

2006<br />
In 2006, <strong>Guangzhou</strong> <strong>International</strong><br />
<strong>Biotech</strong> <strong>Island</strong> was recognized<br />
as a National <strong>Biotech</strong> Industry<br />
Base by National Development<br />
and Reform Commission, being<br />
the first group of National<br />
<strong>Biotech</strong> Industry Bases.<br />
2006 年 经 国 家 发 改 委 批 准 为<br />
国 家 生 物 产 业 基 地 , 是 首 批<br />
国 家 生 物 产 业 基 地 之 一 。<br />
2008<br />
In 2008, <strong>Guangzhou</strong><br />
<strong>International</strong> <strong>Biotech</strong> <strong>Island</strong><br />
was listed in the Reform and<br />
Development Plan of the Pearl<br />
River Delta, officially recognized<br />
as the national strategic program<br />
and key development program<br />
of Guangdong province and<br />
<strong>Guangzhou</strong> city.<br />
2008 年 列 入 《 珠 江 三 角 洲 地<br />
区 改 革 发 展 规 划 纲 要 》, 成 为<br />
国 家 战 略 项 目 和 省 市 重 点 建 设<br />
项 目 , 定 位 为 国 家 级 重 大 创 新<br />
平 台 。<br />
In 2011, <strong>Guangzhou</strong><br />
<strong>International</strong> <strong>Biotech</strong> <strong>Island</strong><br />
was inaugurated and the first<br />
group of companies signed<br />
investment contract.<br />
