Amy L. Reik<br />
Owner & Artistic Director<br />
Amy has been dancing for 40 years and teaching for the last 27<br />
years. She has studied tap, ballet, jazz, modern (Horton – Graham)<br />
lyrical, musical theatre, character, Cecchetti, and acro. Amy has<br />
also studied voice and acting. She was a past Miss Dance of Pennsylvania<br />
and also Miss Florida State 1983. She has received numerous<br />
awards from Dance Masters of America and Cecchetti Council<br />
of America. Amy has performed in various musicals; Guys and Dolls, Damn Yankees, Cabaret,<br />
to name a few. She has also performed in dinner theater and industrial commercial work. As a<br />
professional choreographer she has credits that include Summer Stock Theater, High School<br />
Musicals, Show Choirs and University Dance Troops Performances. She has also set choreography<br />
on soloists, large and small group numbers throughout the United States. As a teacher she<br />
taught at Northern Kentucky University in the theatre department, at local studios, workshops and<br />
distinguished studios across the country. Amy is a frequent master teacher in California, Ohio,<br />
Florida, and Pennsylvania. She has taught nationally for Dance Masters of Ohio, Pennsylvania,<br />
Michigan, Florida, and New York. Amy is the proud teacher of Teen Mr. Dance of Ohio 2007 and Mr.<br />
Dance of Ohio 2008. In addition, her students have won state, regional, and national titles along<br />
with her many choreography awards. Amy additionally travels the country as a National Judge in<br />
various dance and pageant competitions. She is also a frequent evaluator of other competition<br />
teams. Currently, her students are working professionally and also continuing their dance education.<br />
In addition, Amy also believes in giving back to the community by hosting a dance benefit<br />
each year for the FreeStore Foodbank and served as member of the 4C Cabaret committee.<br />
She recently was appointed to the Board of Cincinnati Ballet. Amy’s proudest accomplishment is<br />
being the mother of five boys! Her favorite pastime is sharing the love of The Cincinnati Reds with<br />
her husband, William J. Reik, Jr., limited owner of the baseball team.<br />
Instructor Bios<br />
Chrystan Sheatzley<br />
Chrystan has been dancing for 18 years, most of those years under the instruction of Amy Reik. She has<br />
training in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, acro, musical theater and voice. She graduated from Point<br />
Park University and has her BA in dance. While at Point Park, Chrystan was featured in many performances<br />
at the Pittsburgh Playhouse with the Conservatory Dance Company. She has also performed in numerous industrials, work-<br />
shops and community theaters in the Pittsburgh and Cincinnati areas. Since graduation, Chrystan has been teaching and<br />
choreographing at local studios. Other choreography credits include work with Batavia High School and the American Dance<br />
Company. In addition to teaching dance, Chrystan is the coordinator for Starpower’s Power Pak, a national dance program<br />
that brings kids from all over the country together to experience what it’s like to be in a professional dance company.<br />
Amanda Campbell<br />
Amanda Has been dancing since the age of 3. She has been trained in the areas of ballet, pointe, acrobatics,<br />
jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, musical theatre, modern, and contemporary. She was crowned Petite and Junior Miss<br />
Dance of Ohio and has been awarded many regional and national scholarships. Amanda is excited to be a part<br />
of <strong>StarStruck</strong>'s summer staff.<br />
Mission<br />
The mission of <strong>StarStruck</strong> A.D.A., L.L.C.. is to nurture and enhance the development of each student’s dance<br />
and artistic ability. <strong>StarStruck</strong> A.D..A., L.L.C. is committed to providing a high quality dance curriculum taught by<br />
professionally trained instructors. This studio provides hands-on instructions and corrections.<br />
<strong>StarStruck</strong> A.D.A., L.L.C.. will provide a variety of dance experiences from general classes to master classes<br />
for the enrichment of each student. Classes will be offered for pre-school through advanced in Acro, Ballet,<br />
Ballet Technique/Pointe, Hip Hop, Jazz, Modern, Musical Theater, Leaps and Turns, Stretch/Lyrical, and Tap.<br />
Performance Team<br />
Each spring there will be an audition for participation on the <strong>StarStruck</strong> A.D.A., L.L.C.. performance team. This<br />
team competes regionally and nationally in dance competitions. Information packets are available at the<br />
studio.<br />
Performance is an essential component of exceptional training for all forms of dance. We are preparing art-<br />
ists, providing the tools to enable them to perfect their art. This includes:<br />
the ability to grow in artistic expression<br />
increasing respect for the dancer’s body by preparing and presenting, thereby developing a higher level of<br />
self-esteem<br />
developing presentation skills, which prepares the dancer for the stage<br />
developing a sense of respect for themselves and other dancers<br />
learning how to handle nervousness while performing<br />
And, finally, it is the desired goal that each dancer experience the exhilaration of realizing his/her accomplishments<br />
The performance team consists of dancers, faculty, staff, and most importantly parents. At <strong>StarStruck</strong>, we<br />
view the performance team as a team effort to enhance the dancer’s experience. Ultimately, the goal is an<br />
enjoyable and positive experience for the team member and parents.<br />
