HOFFEN Fume Hoods For Todays Industry Fume hoods, also known as fume cupboards, are enclosed safety devices aerodynamically designed to remove toxic and noxious gases produced when chemicals are mixed or tested. Within the double layer, steel epoxy powder coated superstructure, there is an inner chamber that promotes the efficient removal of fumes and reduces personnel risk of exposure to hazardous chemicals. HOFFEN FAN Chemical Resistant Centrifugal fan Centrifugal Fan Fume extraction systems, for use within the fume hood or fume cupboard in all laboratories, is a critical element of safety and maintaining control of corrosive chemicals and gases. Personnel protection must be maintained at all costs and that is the reason the latest generation of Polypropylene Centrifugal Blowers / Fans have been developed for the laboratory market. Polypropylene (PP) materials lend themselves to molded configurations that allow for ease of air flow, ease of maintenance, provide excellent ventilating properties while providing a sturdy, compact design with low level sound and high efficiency capabilities. All components of the HOFFENFAN blower are made of Molded Polypropylene (PP) and provide excellent protection against corrosive fumes and aggressive exhaust vapors. HOFFENFANs may be installed outdoors and are supplied with a suitable cover to shield against the attack of UV radiation. Fans are easily maintained due to their two part molded construction. FIELD OF EMPLOYMENT HOFFENFANs are installed wherever moist, acidic or chemical fumes are present in the fume hood and ducting system. The HOFFENFAN eliminates the vapors within the ducting and the fume hood making the laboratory environment safe and productive for future experiments and testing procedures. Blower / fans with varying horse power motors are incorporated within the laboratory in such facilities as K12 schools, university, hospitals, water treatment plants, pharmaceutical operations, petrochemical facilities and similar applications. ROTATION The forward curve centrifugal housing and impellers can be positioned in eight (8) different configurations in 45 degree increments, based on the available spacing and configuration of roof or ceiling mounting locations. Both clockwise and counter clockwise applications may be utilized. DEPENDABILITY & MAINTENANCE All HOFFENFANs are quality controlled and tested for dependability and wear ability. Their sound and technically advanced construction provides long lasting dependability and proper extraction of chemical fumes and hazardous vapors. Owner or maintenance personnel must undertake annual reviews and inspection checkups as recommended by supplier to assure the continuous operation of the fans and their components. WARRANTY HOOFENFANs are warranted for one (1) year from time of purchase and warrant that all Fans / Blowers and their Motors are free of production defects in workmanship and materials used. Proper maintenance must be conducted on all parts within the warranty period and beyond. Warranty will be voided if damage to the impeller, housing etc is caused by improper installation or wiring of all connections. MATERIALS HOFFENFAN's are produced of High density (HD) Polypropylene plastics and the base motor is made of galvanized steel. The motor support and mounting attachment stands are also made of high grade steel. The housing is constructed of high density PP in order to provide maximum resistance to corrosion or attack by harsh chemicals. Fiber glass or FRP (fiber glass reinforced plastic) construction is also available upon request. The impellers and casing / housing are to be used in temperatures up to but not exceeding 180 degree F or approx. 80 degree C. HOFFEN EMERGENCY DRENCH SHOWER & EYEWASH In the complicated process of selecting emergency eyewash and drench shower equipment for schools or private sector applications, with design and ease of function as the main criterion, specifiers must select, in compliance to regulatory requirements, the proper materials. Emergency eyewash and shower units are designed to deliver water quickly and completely, to rinse contaminants, such as fumes or particulates, from the users eyes, face or body. These products are not substitutes for the safe handling of hazardous materials be it on a counter top work surface or within a fume hood, but they are the first line of defense and should be considered carefully. *All Dimensions indicated Are in Millimeters(MM) HOFFEN water systems offer fairly comprehensive and advanced emergency eyewash and shower units. The products are characterized by aesthetic appeal, space saving styling, and enhanced performance. Floor mounted or table mounted eyewash or shower units, when placed in ADA compliant or handicapped accessible areas, require minimum knee clearance and minimum location from obstruction. HOFFEN eyewash and shower units are made in compliance with American National Standards Institute (ANSI Z358.1). This requirement in part details that the emergency equipment should be located in an accessible area nor more than 10 seconds or 30.5 meters from a hazardous location. The emergency equipment must be connected to a potable water supply, having a minimum flow pressure of 3 bar (45 psi) and maximum 5.5 bar (80 psi), with discharge water temperature at a comfortable range from 60F to 95F (15C to 35C).
