Holidays affecting Public <strong>Transport</strong><br />

Passenger In<strong>for</strong>mation<br />

Bus services will not operate on 25, 26 Dec <strong>and</strong> 1,2 Jan. For<br />

Highl<strong>and</strong> Railcard<br />

The Highl<strong>and</strong> Railcard is available to anyone aged 16 or over<br />

permanently resident within the following Argyll <strong>and</strong> Bute<br />

postcodes: PA20-38, PA41-49, PA60-78 <strong>and</strong> G83. A Highl<strong>and</strong><br />

Railcard costs £8.50 <strong>and</strong> allows 50% off most rail fares when<br />

you travel on the West Highl<strong>and</strong>, North Highl<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> Kyle<br />

Lines. Also up to 2 children, accompanied by a Highl<strong>and</strong><br />

Railcard holder, can travel <strong>for</strong> a flat fare of £2 return each.<br />

Scottish Citylink<br />

On Scottish Citylink services priority is given to boarding<br />

those passengers who have a reserved ticket. In the case of<br />

Concession Card holders they may reserve their journeys in<br />

advance of travel at a charge of 50p per journey which then<br />

entitles them to the same priority as any other class of reserved<br />

ticket holder. Thereafter the driver will take passengers on<br />

board in queue order subject to there being any remaining<br />

seats available. Seat reservations may be made in advance of<br />

travel by telephoning 08705 50 50 50, by visiting<br />

www.citylink.co.uk on the web or by visiting any Scottish Citylink<br />

Travel Centre or agent.<br />

planning in<strong>for</strong>mation, call Traveline Scotl<strong>and</strong> on 0871 200 22 33,<br />

or visit www.travelinescotl<strong>and</strong>.com. Lines are open 24 hours a<br />

day, seven days a week. Calls cost 10p per minute from BT<br />

L<strong>and</strong>lines. Charges from mobiles or other providers may vary.<br />

On 1 April 2006 the Scottish Executive's national transport<br />

agency, <strong>Transport</strong> Scotl<strong>and</strong>, launched a scheme which<br />

gives older people <strong>and</strong> people with disabilities free bus travel<br />

anywhere in Scotl<strong>and</strong>. People who live in the area covered by<br />

The Strathclyde Concessionary Travel Scheme will also be able<br />

to use the card to get cheaper fares on First ScotRail trains<br />

This scheme was originally set up in recognition of the<br />

difficulties <strong>and</strong> expense involved in travelling to <strong>and</strong> from<br />

hospital <strong>for</strong> people resident in remote communities. The<br />

scheme operates <strong>for</strong> people who live within Argyll <strong>and</strong> Bute,<br />

part of the NHS Highl<strong>and</strong> area. If you are a patient travelling<br />

by public transport to a UK hospital <strong>for</strong> NHS treatment or<br />

appointments you may be able to reclaim part of your travelling<br />

3. On the map, click on the bus stop you want to use <strong>for</strong> any losses incurred by any party placing reliance on the<br />

4. View departure times <strong>for</strong> that stop on your mobile. It’s that easy! in<strong>for</strong>mation contained herein. Timetables may be changed at<br />

short notice <strong>and</strong> if your journey is important please confirm<br />
