Abba is coming to town. Well, OK. Abba is not
coming to town. They still annoyingly refuse to
reform. But the next best thing is coming to town:
Mamma Mia, the hit show that has seen 42 million
people part with their cash across the world to
watch Abba songs be performed by artists that look
a little bit like the band, is coming to Muscat.
We have an exclusive interview with the star of the
show on page 16. Last minute tickets for the event
on Wednesday 28 are available on the door at the
InterContinental (Tel: 246 80000) for OR20. But if
you can persuade nine of your friends to come you
can get ten tickets for OR10. Bargain.
The Muscat Singers, a Oman-based community
choir, is hosting a festive show on December 7.
You can read an interview with the Singers on page
22 as they prepare for the big day at the Bosch
Centre for the Performing Arts. Tickets are selling
fast for this regular in the Oman calendar. Expect
a mixture of the traditional, with the likes of A
Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten, and the not
so traditional, step forward Billy Joel and Elton John.
Although next year we’re going to suggest
Enter Sandman by Metallica. Y would pay
good money to see that performed by a choir.
