Dear <strong>Village</strong> Residents:<br />
As President <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Village</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Olympia</strong> <strong>Fields</strong>, it is my pleasure to provide<br />
you with our new Resident Handbook. The Community Relations<br />
Commission participated in preparing the Handbook, and we truly<br />
appreciate their hard work, dedication and commitment to the<br />
<strong>Village</strong>. We believe the information provided in this <strong>handbook</strong> will be<br />
<strong>of</strong> assistance to you.<br />
As residents, we take great pride in our homes and our neighborhoods.<br />
That is why the <strong>Village</strong> encourages a comprehensive property<br />
maintenance program. By assuring community standards are met,<br />
we promote stability <strong>of</strong> our property values. Our Code Enforcement<br />
Officer regularly canvasses the <strong>Village</strong> making sure homes and yards<br />
are properly maintained. Please refer to the Handbook's Property<br />
Maintenance section or call the <strong>Village</strong> Hall if you have any questions<br />
regarding the <strong>Village</strong>'s standards for quality.<br />
Participating in local municipal government develops a sense <strong>of</strong> ownership<br />
and empowers you as a resident. I encourage you to attend<br />
our Board meetings to see how decisions are made that affect our<br />
residents and local businesses. These meetings are held on the 2nd<br />
and 4th Mondays <strong>of</strong> each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Linzey D. Jones<br />
Municipal Building. Additionally, there are many <strong>Village</strong> Committees<br />
that permit residents to actively engage in the formulation <strong>of</strong> <strong>Village</strong><br />
policies.<br />
Finally, there are several neighborhood associations that are part <strong>of</strong><br />
the fabric <strong>of</strong> our community. I urge you to contact your homeowners’<br />
association and the Enhancement Organization <strong>of</strong> <strong>Olympia</strong> <strong>Fields</strong>.<br />
These organizations are a valuable resource in making life in our <strong>Village</strong><br />
more enjoyable.<br />
Please take a moment to look through the Resident Handbook. This<br />
Handbook includes information about local schools, community<br />
organizations, and services you may need. Also, watch Comcast<br />
channel 4 on cable TV for <strong>Village</strong> news. Our <strong>Village</strong> website is<br />
www.olympia-fields.com. A listing <strong>of</strong> <strong>Village</strong> businesses is available at<br />
the <strong>Village</strong> Hall.<br />
