THE REFLECTIONS
GEORGE GALFO’S MYSTICS
LOU RAGLAND’S WORLD FAMOUS INK SPOTS
THE PLATTERS FEATURING THE LEGENDARY MONROE POWELL
A former
member
of both the Dominoes (1950s) and the Ink
Spots (1960s), Monroe Powell was hired
by Buck Ram to join the Platters as their
third lead singer in 1970, replacing Sonny
Turner who replaced the original Tony Williams.
Today, Monroe is flanked by Don
Gloude, Kenn Johnson and Genevieve
Dew in recreating all those hits such as
today with his own group, George Galfo’s
Mystics. Today, he takes pride as the lead
singer on “Hushabye,” the group's biggest
hit, along with the leads on “Don't Take The
Stars”, “Darling I Know Now”… just to mention
a few. George can be heard on all the
Mystics original recordings. They are a very
affordable track show, and can
supplement their show with a
small backing band.
“Only
You,”
Sweet and smooth -
deep and soulful... the
Spots will warm your
heart and take you on a
romantic journey into the
past. They specialize in
sophisticated, close harmony.
You’ll enjoy songs
like “If I Didn’t Care” in a
way reminiscent of how
they sounded on the
Monroe has a remarkable vocal
range and his early years
with The Dominoes and The Ink
Spots, and his long association
with The Platters has earned
him a place in music history. No
other man or woman has continuously
been with Buck Ram
and The Platters as long as
Monroe Powell.
During The British Invasion of
The 60's, few American groups
were successful in their attempts
to land top charting record. The
Reflections beat the odds with a
string of highly acclaimed, top
selling hits. Their first hit, "Just
Like Romeo & Juliet" was a multimillion
seller, and in quick succession
1940s. Though the faces may be
different, the sound remains the
same. Lou Ragland, a vocalist
and guitar player for the George
continued to dominate the charts. The Reflections
achieved success purely on the strength
of their well-crafted harmonies and cool professionalism.
It's no wonder that four decades later
