About SIMB The Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology is a professional association dedicated to the industrial application of microbiology and biotechnology. We are devoted to providing the highest quality educational opportunities possible to our members. In 2012 we invite you to join us in our nation's capital, Washinton, DC! Our annual meeting is of high scientific quality and draws an average attendance of 600 scientists working in industry, government, and academia around the world. Guests at the landmark Hilton hotel will enjoy being in the center of the District’s most sought after neighborhoods, including Adams Morgan, Woodley Park and the U Street Corridor. The hotel is a mile from the Smithsonian National Zoo and just four blocks from the Dupont Circle Metro Station on the Red Line. The Washington Hilton hotel is pleased to unveil the completion of a $150 million landmark restoration project - a top-tobottom makeover where classic style meets the contemporary attitude of this legendary property built in 1965. • Panoramic views of DC skyline - most guest rooms feature beautiful city or neighborhood views, many including the Capitol Building and Washington Monument • Restaurants & Bars - All-day dining is served at The District Line Restaurant + Bar. Enjoy an array of local specialties, soups, burgers, sandwiches, crab cakes and selection of satisfying salads. Outdoor seasonal seating. Booth cost Booth cost is $1975 for SIMB corporate members or $2200 for non-corporate members. Prime space, add $200. Nonprime corner, add $100. Booth rental Booth rental includes: • 8’ x 10’ booth frame with a back wall 7’ high and side rails 3’ high with divider drapes. Do not exceed. • 7” x 44” exhibitor identification sign • The exhibit hall floor is carpeted. All other booth supplies, signs, equipment, furniture, etc. must be rented through the official decorating company, Hargrove. • Security service (24-hour) during installation, operation and dismantling hours. • One full meeting registration and two “hall only” passes per booth. • All booth personnel receive lunch and coffee breaks. Exhibitor with full meeting registration receives one Society banquet ticket. • Pre- and post-show attendee list • Program and abstracts book Exhibit staffing requirement The exhibit booth must be staffed during stated exhibit hours by an employee or representative of the exhibiting company. Space assignment Space will be assigned in order of receipt of application with payment in full. Corporate members and returning exhibitors will have priority in space selection, if the application is received before April 1. SIMB reserves the right to assign exhibit space and to regulate the use of that space or the design and appearance of any booth. Every effort will be made to accommodate exhibitors’ booth location requests. SIMB reserves the right to relocate booths if absolutely necessary and cannot guarantee that a company will not be placed near a competitor. In the event of a space conflict, SIMB reserves the right to rearrange the floor plan, relocate any space, or cancel the event at any time prior to the exhibit opening. Installation and dismantling Installation of exhibits will begin Sunday, August 12 at 11:00 am. Exhibits must be fully installed by 4:00 pm Sunday. All exhibits must remain intact until 7:00 am Wednesday, August 15. Dismantling of exhibits will begin at 7:00 am Wednesday, August 15. No dismantling is authorized before Wednesday morning, August 15. All exhibits must be dismantled and crated, ready for removal from the exhibit hall, by 12:00 noon. A service center will be staffed by Hargrove during the installation and dismantling periods. Job placement service SIMB will sponsor its traditional job placement service. Job notices will be posted at the Placement desk in the registration area. Resumes will be available to employers throughout the week.
