C.A.R.E. (Before and After School Program)<br />

Children At-School Recreation and Enrichment Program is a before and after school program for children<br />

in grades 1 thru 5 in Kaneland School <strong>District</strong> #302. It provides a safe, supervised environment where<br />

children can socialize, play or do homework. Our staff oversee student activities including sports, arts<br />

and crafts, games, reading, storytelling, music, videos, study time, and nutritious snacks.<br />

BEFORE-AND-AFTER SCHOOL C.A.R.E. COUNSELORS NEEDED<br />

The <strong>Sugar</strong> <strong>Grove</strong> <strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong> is looking for Before-and-After School C.A.R.E. Counselors to work Monday-<br />

Friday from 6am-8:45am and/or 3:15pm-6pm at our four Kaneland Elementary Schools. This is a seasonal job<br />

for the school year.<br />

Essential Duties: Plan and conduct recreational activities before and after school that would include sports,<br />

games, and arts & crafts. Administer drop-off and pick-up policies. Assist in set-up and clean-up activities.<br />

Provide for the health and safety of participants. Attend required staff meetings and trainings. Perform all job<br />

tasks within the rules and guidelines of the district’s safety policies. Perform other duties as necessary and/<br />

or assigned.<br />

Required Skills and Certifications: Positive attitude, flexibility, understanding, and patience. Communication<br />

skills including listening, responsiveness and sensitivity to children’s backgrounds, needs, and capabilities.<br />

Skills to help children meet their developmental and emotional needs. Skills in planning, directing, and conducting<br />

children’s programs. Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days offered by the <strong>Sugar</strong> <strong>Grove</strong><br />

<strong>Park</strong> <strong>District</strong>. Training is provided.<br />

Salary Range: $7:50-$9:00/hr.<br />
