On her way to New York in 1959,
the young Australian journalist
Lillian Roxon, who’d grown up as
an inquisitive teenager in the town
of Brisbane awash with American
servicemen, stopped in Hawaii to
interview Elvis Presley’s manager,
Colonel Tom Parker. This would
mark the beginning of Lillian’s
passion for rock’n’roll. Ten years
later, she was the queen of New
York’s coolest club, Max’s Kansas
City, and would write the first ever
rock encyclopedia.
