FORESTRY ABSTRACTS<br />
Covers the management <strong>of</strong> forest land and 'urban forestry '. Topics dealt with<br />
include silviculture, arboriculture, dendrochronology, forest mycology and entomology,<br />
range, wildlife, freshwater fish, water catchments, and nature conservation.<br />
About 6,000 abstracts from the world literature are published in 12 issues annually,<br />
with author and species indexes, and there is a consolidated annual index <strong>of</strong><br />
authors, species and subjects.<br />
FOREST PRODUCTS ABSTRACTS<br />
Covers the harvesting, conversion, marketing and use <strong>of</strong> wood and other forest<br />
products. Particular attention is given to the properties <strong>of</strong> wood , wood preservation,<br />
Wood-based panels, wood-working machinery and timber engineering. Pulp and<br />
paper are covered mainly from the point <strong>of</strong> view <strong>of</strong> production up to the chip stage.<br />
About 3,000 abstracts, <strong>of</strong> which a small proportion also appears in Forestry<br />
Abstracts, are published annually, with indexes as for Forestry Abstracts.<br />
<strong>The</strong> above journals are available in paper editions, micr<strong>of</strong>iche and<br />

<strong>The</strong>re are special rates for new subscriptions in non-member countries and for<br />

ON-LINE SERVICE<br />
<strong>The</strong> contents <strong>of</strong> Forestry Abstracts since January 1973 and Forest<br />
Products Abstracts since January 1978 are available on-line through various datal<br />
base contractors. Further information will be sent on request.<br />
CARD TITLE SERVICES<br />
A 'current awareness' service is available as 'FA Cards' and/or 'FPA Cards'.<br />
From January 1979 these are issued in monthly batches corresponding to each<br />
issue <strong>of</strong> Forestry Abstracts and Forest Products Abstracts. <strong>The</strong> cards are reproduced<br />
from a computer printout, 8 at a time, on uncut sheets <strong>of</strong> thin card. <strong>The</strong>y<br />
contain the same information as the abstracts journals, except that the text <strong>of</strong> the<br />
abstract is frequently truncated.<br />
LEADING ARTICLES<br />
Both joumals are prepared to accept review articles on particular topics, for which<br />
a small honorarium is paid. <strong>The</strong>se are made available as reprints.<br />
ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHIES<br />
<strong>The</strong>se are prepared as collections <strong>of</strong> abstracts from Forestry Abstracts, Forest<br />
Products Abstracts, and other CAB journals, relating to particular topics.<br />
