FORESTRY ABSTRACTS
Covers the management of forest land and 'urban forestry '. Topics dealt with
include silviculture, arboriculture, dendrochronology, forest mycology and entomology,
range, wildlife, freshwater fish, water catchments, and nature conservation.
About 6,000 abstracts from the world literature are published in 12 issues annually,
with author and species indexes, and there is a consolidated annual index of
authors, species and subjects.
FOREST PRODUCTS ABSTRACTS
Covers the harvesting, conversion, marketing and use of wood and other forest
products. Particular attention is given to the properties of wood , wood preservation,
Wood-based panels, wood-working machinery and timber engineering. Pulp and
paper are covered mainly from the point of view of production up to the chip stage.
About 3,000 abstracts, of which a small proportion also appears in Forestry
Abstracts, are published annually, with indexes as for Forestry Abstracts.
The above journals are available in paper editions, microfiche and

ON-LINE SERVICE
The contents of Forestry Abstracts since January 1973 and Forest
Products Abstracts since January 1978 are available on-line through various datal
base contractors. Further information will be sent on request.
CARD TITLE SERVICES
A 'current awareness' service is available as 'FA Cards' and/or 'FPA Cards'.
From January 1979 these are issued in monthly batches corresponding to each
issue of Forestry Abstracts and Forest Products Abstracts. The cards are reproduced
from a computer printout, 8 at a time, on uncut sheets of thin card. They
contain the same information as the abstracts journals, except that the text of the
abstract is frequently truncated.
LEADING ARTICLES
Both joumals are prepared to accept review articles on particular topics, for which
a small honorarium is paid. These are made available as reprints.
ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHIES
These are prepared as collections of abstracts from Forestry Abstracts, Forest
Products Abstracts, and other CAB journals, relating to particular topics.
