An Integrated Management System (IMS) as<br />

applied to Army National Guard organizations<br />

is the alignment and integration of business<br />

practices that includes: assessing the<br />

organization against a valid set of criteria to<br />

determine an organization’s strengths and<br />

areas for improvement, strategic plan<br />

development and implementation, measuring<br />

the performance, and improving key business<br />

processes through the use of Lean Six Sigma.<br />

M8-1.1 MILESTONE: Publish Director <strong>ARNG</strong> IMS<br />

M8-1.3 MILESTONE: Annually assess processes<br />

(internal - NGB) and track assessment (external - 54<br />

States, Territories and District of Colombia) to<br />

evaluate effectiveness and identify areas of<br />

improvement using the Criteria for Performance<br />

Excellence. (Y/N)<br />

M8-1.4 MILESTONE: All <strong>ARNG</strong> organizations at<br />

the Chief Management Officer level develop and<br />

publish a strategic plan that focuses on what it must<br />

do in the future to achieve performance excellence.<br />

process improvements derived from feedback of<br />

The <strong>ARNG</strong> is accountable for operating a<br />

financial management program designed to<br />

detect and correct instances of fraud, waste,<br />

abuse, and misconduct. To execute these<br />

requirements, the <strong>ARNG</strong> shall improve internal<br />

controls, achieve and sustain audit readiness,<br />

and implement responsive budgetary systems<br />
