Flinders Petrie substantiates this conclusion, ins<strong>of</strong>ar that he says “<strong>the</strong> exquisite<br />
workmanship <strong>of</strong>ten found in <strong>the</strong> early period (<strong>of</strong> Egyptians architecture) did not so much<br />
depend upon a large <strong>of</strong> widespread ability, as on a few men far above <strong>the</strong>ir fellows.”<br />
The phenomenal accuracy <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> work, says Petrie, “was limited to <strong>the</strong> skill <strong>of</strong> one man.”<br />
Concludes Thompkins:<br />
“As to <strong>the</strong> actual dates <strong>of</strong> construction <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Great</strong> <strong>Pyramid</strong>, apart from<br />
<strong>the</strong> statement that it was built 300 years before <strong>the</strong> Flood, <strong>the</strong> legends add<br />
little. Egyptologists who worked out that <strong>the</strong> Fourth Dynasty must have<br />
reigned between 2720 and 2560 B.C. believe <strong>the</strong> <strong>Great</strong> <strong>Pyramid</strong> was<br />
<strong>com</strong>menced in 2644; o<strong>the</strong>rs believe that its construction was begun in 2200<br />
and that 30 to 56 years were required to <strong>com</strong>plete it. Still o<strong>the</strong>rs place <strong>the</strong><br />
building <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Pyramid</strong> a thousand 6 years earlier” (p.219-220).<br />
Discoveries <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Great</strong> <strong>Pyramid</strong><br />
Was <strong>the</strong> <strong>Great</strong> <strong>Pyramid</strong> a repository <strong>of</strong> arcane knowledge Yes it was!<br />
Incredibly so!<br />
The polar diameter <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> earth is 7,900 miles. The <strong>Pyramid</strong> inch measures just<br />
.0011 more than <strong>the</strong> English inch. The <strong>Pyramid</strong> inch is stated to be exactly one five<br />
hundred millionth (1/500,000,000) <strong>of</strong> this diameter. 500,000,000 such inches <strong>com</strong>e<br />
within 100 feet <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 7,900 mile Polar diameter <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> earth!<br />
As to <strong>the</strong> purpose <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Great</strong> <strong>Pyramid</strong>, Peter Tompkins in <strong>the</strong> introduction to his<br />
book Secrets <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Great</strong> <strong>Pyramid</strong>. writes: “The <strong>Great</strong> <strong>Pyramid</strong>, like most <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> great<br />
temples <strong>of</strong> antiquity, was designed on <strong>the</strong> basis <strong>of</strong> a hermetic geometry known only to a<br />
restricted group <strong>of</strong> initiates, mere traces <strong>of</strong> which percolated to <strong>the</strong> Classical and<br />
Alexandrian Greeks.<br />
“These and o<strong>the</strong>r recent discoveries have made it possible to reanalyze <strong>the</strong> entire<br />
history <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Great</strong> <strong>Pyramid</strong> with a whole new set <strong>of</strong> references: <strong>the</strong> results are<br />
explosive. The <strong>com</strong>mon – and indeed authoritative – assumption that <strong>the</strong> <strong>Pyramid</strong> was<br />
just ano<strong>the</strong>r tomb built to memorialize some vainglorious Pharaoh is proved to be false”<br />
(Secrets <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Great</strong> <strong>Pyramid</strong>, xiv).<br />
Tompkins points out that it is now known that an advanced science existed 2-<br />
3,000 years before Christ. It is now realized that Hipparchus, Pythagoras and o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
Greeks who were thought to have invented ma<strong>the</strong>matics on this planet merely picked up<br />
fragments <strong>of</strong> an arcane science that was evolved by "remote and unknown<br />
predecessors."<br />
Adds Tompkins: "Like Stonehenge and o<strong>the</strong>r megalithic calendars, <strong>the</strong> <strong>Pyramid</strong><br />
has been shown to be an almanac by means <strong>of</strong> which <strong>the</strong> length <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> year including its<br />
awkward .2422 fraction <strong>of</strong> a day could be measured as accurately as with a modern<br />
telescope. It has been shown to be a <strong>the</strong>odolite, or instrument for <strong>the</strong> surveyor, <strong>of</strong> great
