Letter of Welcome<br />
On behalf of Ringette Calgary, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to all the participants of the<br />
29th Annual Esso Golden Ring Tournament. We look forward to a weekend of great competition<br />
and camaraderie, as we welcome over 190 teams representing 5 different provinces. I am sure<br />
that you'll find the level of competition and variety of teams unmatched by any other tournament in<br />
Canada.<br />
Being able to host an event of this size does not happen without countless hours contributed by the<br />
Tournament Committee and the many Calgary Ringette community volunteers prior to and during this<br />
tournament weekend. Please take a moment to acknowledge their outstanding contributions by extending<br />
a 'thank you' or a smile when you see them at the rinks.<br />
I would like to recognize and thank once again our major sponsor, Imperial, who has provided their<br />
unwavering support of ringette in Calgary for close to 30 years. Also, a special thanks to our many other<br />
sponsors who help make this tournament an overwhelming success.<br />
I’d also like to recognize the officials of this year’s tournament. They have worked just as hard developing<br />
their skills, as the athletes competing. Let’s show them the respect and gratitude they deserve.<br />
To the spectators, take the time to watch both your favorite team’s games and other teams’. It will be time<br />
well spent, as you’ll witness the enthusiasm of the younger age divisions and the skill and strategy of the<br />
older divisions.<br />
Last, but certainly not least, to the players. Have fun! Play with passion, do your best and enjoy this one<br />
of a kind Ringette tournament. Remember that above all it is about the experience. Maximize your fun<br />
both on and off the ice with teammates and fellow competitors. I am quite sure that this weekend will<br />
allow you the opportunity to renew acquaintances, develop new friendships and create lifelong memories.<br />
