Youth Pastor's Report - Hope Valley Uniting Church

SENIORS MINISTRY
Highlights:
A monthly service has commenced at Valley View
Nursing Home. Yvonne James and Dawne Johnston
lead the service. The first service was very well
received by the residents who have been asking
for spiritual input into their lives from the Uniting
Church.
The indoor bowling group has struggled for
numbers this year. However over the past month
we have gained some new members giving us
enough people to play on one mat each week.
Eleven people attend weekly (health permitting)
and we welcome new players from the church and
broader community.
The Friendship Circle celebrated 86 years of
fellowship this month with a birthday celebration.
An afternoon of songs from well known musicals,
followed by high tea was held on Tuesday 8th
May to celebrate this milestone. All who attended
thoroughly enjoyed this event.
Extended Care and Pastoral visiting ministries have
reviewed some of their practices. A welcome letter
has been developed for those commencing in these
ministries.
Hymn singing and a lunch for seniors was held in
April. Although numbers were down on previous
lunches the event was still well attended and
enjoyed by all.
Future:
A concert and dinner is currently being planned for
November.
