October 26 - November 12, 2012 The Fruits of their Labor Aleksander Titovets Lyuba Titovets Reception: Friday, November 2, 6-8 pm Lyuba Titovets After the Rain 24”x 36” Oil Aleksander and Lyuba Titovets immigrated to the United States from St. Petersburg, Russia twenty years ago. Theirs is an American success story and we are proud to host a show with over 20 new works from these two classically trained artists. Arriving in the US in 1992, Aleksander had $25 in his pocket, new ideas, a different perspecitve on life and art, and some canvases he and Lyuba had brought with them. They worked odd jobs and continued to paint when the time allowed. As they persevered, their ability to focus more on their art grew. Today, they are both full time painters with numerous accolades and awards. Their work has been shown throughout the US and has become part of collections throughout the world including the national portrait gallery in Washington DC with his painting of Laura Bush.
