In this article we continue our exploration of aspects of mysticism<br />
from a scientific perspective by taking a look at String <strong>The</strong>ory and<br />
its awesome implications for both science and mysticism.<br />
N PARTS 1 AND 2 OF THIS SERIES I<br />
explained that science was concerned with<br />
observing the world around us and then<br />
developing ideas and theories that would<br />
explain how things worked. <strong>The</strong> theories<br />
would then be tested experimentally to see if they<br />
provided valid and robust explanations. However,<br />
String <strong>The</strong>ory cannot be tested experimentally yet,<br />
and probably won’t be for a long time to come.<br />
<strong>The</strong> theory belongs to a branch of science called<br />
“<strong>The</strong>oretical Physics.” It is highly mathematical but<br />
also elegant and beautiful with underlying<br />
principles that are both simple and profound in<br />
their implications.<br />

directly by observation and experiment, the<br />
