Director’s Notes
On behalf of the students, faculty and staff of
the Piedmont College Theatre Department,
I would like to welcome you to the 2nd
production of our Mainstage season, A
Christmas Carol. Step into the world of
Victorian England as illustrated by Charles
Dickens and explore the sights, sounds and
mystery of Ebenezer Scrooge’s incredible
journey. His journey has become a holiday
tradition for me and many more.
As I worked with this talented group of
actors, designers and technicians, I found
myself taking inspiration from the gift that
Ebenezer was given: the ability to reflect on
the past, examine the present and predict
the future. I was beyond blessed to grow up in a household that centered
on love, giving and respect for all. These gifts given to me by my parents
have truly shaped my present and allowed me to see a clear vision of
my future. I encourage you to take the same inspiration from Ebenezer
Scrooge. Reflect on your past. Examine your present. Predict your future.
It is my sincere hope that you will not only see the power of change but
also that you are surrounded by love, giving and respect for all. Uncover
YOUR journey and relish in a bright future filled with joy.
I would like to thank my Theatre Family, my co-workers and this incredibly
talented group of performers, technician and designers. On a daily basis,
you make this bald man very proud. You make me want to be a better
director, educator and overall person. For this and many other things, I
thank you.
Finally, to you, the audience, I thank you for being here and supporting
the Fine Arts and Piedmont College. I wish you all a holiday season filled
with love and joy.
God bless us, every one!
