Thankyou for all the kind words
you’ve sent me. I’m also pleased
(surprised maybe) that there have
been no negatives. A few readers
have had problems opening or
printing the February edition, but
everyone that has contacted me
has been able to resolve their
issue. It’s never easy when you,
the readers use a multitude of
platforms (Win XP to Win 8, Mac and Linux) to make the
distribution fool proof, but I think we come pretty close.
We want to make it as easy as possible, and having a
platform that you can read without having to download is
a big step forward. I know it will take a while for some of
you to break the habit of printing a copy, and then filing it
only to throw it out after several months. Why not leave it
online, and open it any time you want to refer to it
I really want to get some discussion going on our district,
and what better place than your own newsletter. Please
write to me, or send a response to those Kiwanians who
have taken the effort to write. Be proud of the “K” that you
wear, and share the pride, pleasure and enjoyment that
you derive from Kiwanis membership. In the February
edition, I advised that we are able and willing to send your
AK to friends of Kiwanis as well as our membership. Please
advise Secretary Dave of anyone that you would like added
to our mailing list, as the more people that discover
Kiwanis, the more members we can recruit.
Service Clubs worldwide are facing a membership problem,
yet there is more interest than ever by individuals to get
involved in volunteering. This is a Sales Problem. We need
to differentiate our product, and make Kiwanis attractive to
our neighbours.
