Most of you know that we lost our food service
privileges at the Tee House last October. While this
was inconvenient, it did force us to do what we
should have done LONG ago. That is to provide
our own food service at the price and during the
hours that supports our members. Some feel that
we made a mistake in beginning our own food
service. Others are VERY pleased that we are
offering a food service that we control. Originally,
we planned to serve our members at a window at
the grill. NOW, we have decided that we need to
offer the food and beverage service inside, in order
to enjoy the volume of business that is needed to
show a small profit. We are using the former front
desk as a service bar until we can build a custom
service bar near the window to court 6. Viewing to
court 6 will continue and we will not allow the
service bar to interfere play on court 6. This new
service bar will offer a “Juice Bar” service at
times, and offer Starbucks coffee type service at
other times, and at 4 in the afternoon, the new
service bar will become our version of Cheers. We
will offer a sports bar type service with friendly
bar service, featuring draft beer, canned beer and a
nice selection of wine. We expect to have the
service bar open in September and I hope many of
you will give the service bar a try for coffee,
healthy drinks, and of course your favorite
refreshment after playing tennis or working out. If
any of you have any ideas about making the
service bar a WINNER—let me know.
It’s great to see all the
families around the Club,
enjoying the pool,
playing tennis and grabbing lunch at the Top Spin
Grill. I want to make sure that everyone is making the
most of their time at the Club. For the kids, we still
The summer is in full swing. This year,
let’s make this time full of tennis and
fitness. We are always looking for
something to do in the summer and now
is the time to make sure we get fit or take that lesson
you have been promising yourself for months. Though
the kids are in their element and taking camps and
doing beach stuff, let’s make sure you make time for
yourself as well. We have lots of room for tennis camps,
and this year we have more surprises than ever. Our
little future stars will have their own two courts like
always, but this year we will have a more structured
program with a new leader to make sure the tennis is
the top priority. We hope this new twist will see them
having even more fun. Congrats to all the champions
we had at our Open Tournament. Our Jr. program is in
full force and it shows by how many of our kids at
LNRC did so well last week. These tournaments are so
important for the growth in tennis and the growth of
young players. Though it does take some courts away
from the members, we try our best to make sure the
courts are not too taken up by the outside players. Have
a great summer and see you on the courts.
have room in our Summer Tennis Camp program, so be sure to check that out. We also have swim activities
for the kids. Go to the front desk and ask for info on times/rates, etc. We also have a lot to do for moms and
dads. We have on-going tennis clinics, Spin classes, Pilates and a variety of Group Exercise classes. There is
so much to do. And, if you have not yet visited the Top Spin Grill, put that on your calendar for your next visit
to the Club. Enjoy your summer and see you around the Club.
