“We are scratching and clawing around,” said the Air Canada employee from Oromocto,<br />
N.B., who scored three in the 10th to defeat P.E.I. 8-6.<br />
“If we take away our Saturday we are in pretty good shape right now. I’m feeling good. We<br />
are just going to roll from here and see what happens. There seems to be a big separation this<br />
year where a bunch of people are running away. It doesn’t bode well for guys like me in the<br />
middle.”<br />
Saskatchewan’s Brock Virtue kept his slim playoff hopes alive by beating Paul Flemming of<br />
Nova Scotia 7-2. Virtue is now 3-4.<br />
“It’s desperation mode,” said Virtue, who still has tough matches left against Alberta and<br />
Quebec.<br />
“Coming into this game we had no option but to win the rest of our games. If we can’t play as<br />
good as we can, we’re not going to win.”<br />
