8-12 weeks before the event<br />
• Review the event website for important event details, such as date, location,<br />
time, website URL, registration fees, etc., and communicate this information<br />
to y<strong>our</strong> team members.<br />
• Enc<strong>our</strong>age y<strong>our</strong> team members to register online—remember, you are trying<br />
to recruit other friends to join you!<br />
• Customize y<strong>our</strong> team and personal web pages with pictures and y<strong>our</strong> story.<br />
• Set y<strong>our</strong> personal and team fundraising goals. Set a goal of at least $1,000<br />
for y<strong>our</strong>self and $10,000 for y<strong>our</strong> team.<br />
• Make a contribution to y<strong>our</strong> own fundraising campaign to show y<strong>our</strong><br />
commitment!<br />
• Begin recruiting team members via email, phone calls, and letters.<br />
• Learn about y<strong>our</strong> company’s matching gift policy.<br />
• Begin collecting donations—it’s never too early! Send emails/letters and<br />
make phone calls to everyone on y<strong>our</strong> contact list asking for their financial<br />
support and participation.<br />
4-8 weeks before the event<br />
• Coordinate and host a team fundraiser event, such as a restaurant night,<br />
bake sale, garage sale, or wear-jeans-to-work day to raise additional funds<br />
for y<strong>our</strong> team campaign.<br />
• Use social media such as Facebook and Twitter to communicate with y<strong>our</strong><br />
team, and remember to become a friend of <strong>LUNGevity</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> social<br />
media. Social media are also excellent recruitment tools.<br />
• Motivate current team members with frequent communication, updates,<br />
and enc<strong>our</strong>agement. Supply them with any important event updates.<br />
2-4 weeks before the event<br />
• Send a weekly email to y<strong>our</strong> team members to ensure that they are registered,<br />
are raising money, and have all necessary event and team information.<br />
• Follow up with potential donors to ensure that a contribution is made.<br />
• THANK all of y<strong>our</strong> donors! You can track y<strong>our</strong> donors using y<strong>our</strong> individual<br />
online <strong>LUNGevity</strong> campaign.<br />
1 week before the event<br />
• Confirm with y<strong>our</strong> team members all event details, including an event-day<br />
schedule and a meeting location for event day.<br />
