<strong>ACE</strong> <strong>program</strong> in<strong>for</strong>mation<br />

Eligibility<br />

This document is to assist organisations to determine their eligibility to be included on the Adult<br />

Community Education Program <strong>provider</strong> <strong>list</strong>.<br />

<strong>ACE</strong> <strong>program</strong> <strong>provider</strong>s are organisations that are not-<strong>for</strong>-profit, community based, able to<br />

demonstrate that adult education and training is a key focus of their business, and meet the selection<br />

criteria.<br />

A not-<strong>for</strong>-profit organisation is one which is not operating <strong>for</strong> the profit or gain of its individual<br />

members, whether these gains would have been direct or indirect. This applies both while the<br />

organisation is operating and when it winds up. Any profit made by the organisation goes back into<br />

the operation of the organisation to carry out its purpose and is not distributed to any of its members.<br />

The <strong>ACE</strong> <strong>program</strong> <strong>provider</strong> process is managed by the Department of Further Education,<br />

Employment, Science and Technology (DFEEST), Foundation <strong>Skills</strong> Unit. Selected <strong>provider</strong>s will be<br />

<strong>list</strong>ed on the <strong>ACE</strong> <strong>program</strong> <strong>provider</strong>’s register held by the Foundation <strong>Skills</strong> Unit <strong>for</strong> up to three years.<br />

Selection as an <strong>ACE</strong> <strong>program</strong> <strong>provider</strong> with DFEEST entitles the <strong>provider</strong> to apply <strong>for</strong> competitive<br />

<strong>ACE</strong> <strong>program</strong> Grant Funding <strong>for</strong> up to three years from date of <strong>list</strong>ing, but it does not guarantee<br />

funding.<br />

Organisations not eligible to apply to be an <strong>ACE</strong> <strong>program</strong> <strong>provider</strong> include:<br />

Commercial organisations or *registered training organisations (RTOs) that are <strong>for</strong> private profit.<br />

TAFE <strong>SA</strong> Institutes.<br />

Universities Industry organisations (eg <strong>Skills</strong> Boards, Regional Development Australia, Broker<br />

Services).<br />

Organisations who are not registered as a business in South Australia or whose principal place of<br />

operations is not in South Australia.<br />

State or Federal government agencies.<br />

*Not-<strong>for</strong>-profit RTOs must be <strong>Skills</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>All</strong> training <strong>provider</strong>s and have the Certificate I in Education<br />

and <strong>Skills</strong> Development curriculum on scope of registration to be eligible<br />

Overview of process<br />

This document provides the framework <strong>for</strong> the process of selecting <strong>ACE</strong> <strong>program</strong> <strong>provider</strong>s.<br />

Applications are submitted to the Foundation <strong>Skills</strong> Unit which consider, assess and decide on the<br />

application. Selection as an <strong>ACE</strong> <strong>program</strong> <strong>provider</strong> is <strong>for</strong> up to three years and does not guarantee<br />

grant funding through the <strong>ACE</strong> <strong>program</strong>, which is a competitive process.<br />
