About the author
Tim Stockwell is currently the Director of the Centre for
Addictions Research of BC at the University of Victoria, British
Columbia, Canada, and a full Professor in the Department
of Psychology there. He has been involved in alcohol policy
research for over 25 years, has published over 200 articles, reports
and books, and has held various senior appointments such as
Director of Australia’s National Drug Research Institute (1996
to 2004), Director of the Alcohol Education and Rehabilitation
Foundation (2001 to 2004), Member of the WHO Alcohol
Policy Strategy Advisory Committee and Australia’s National
Expert Advisory Committee on Alcohol. Professor Stockwell
holds a Masters degree in Psychology and Philosophy from
the University of Oxford, UK, a Masters degree in Clinical
Psychology from the University of Surrey, UK, and a PhD from
the Institute of Psychiatry, University of London, UK.
