Supplementary Regulations Irish Superbikes Short Circuit Championship Races<br />

At Kirkistown Racing Circuit on Monday 1 st April 2013<br />

Scrutineering 7.30am – Practice 9.00am – Racing 12.45pm<br />

1. JURISDICTION.<br />

The race will be held under the General Competition Rules and Standing Regulations of the Motor Cycle Union of Ireland (Ulster Centre) <strong>Ltd</strong>.<br />

These Supplementary Regulations and any further Regulations subsequently issued.<br />

2. ELIGIBILITY.<br />

For National Competitors, Drivers and Passengers must hold a valid National or International Competition Licence issued by the MCUI or any other FMN. Riders<br />

not holding an MCUI Licence must carry proof of insurance and a written Start Permission issued by their FMN. Any further eligibility requirements will be set in<br />

the Supplementary Regulations for the event and if applicable, any championship regulation for which the event is a counting round.<br />

THE PROMOTING <strong>CLUB</strong> RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL ANY EVENT IF LESS THAN 10 PAID ENTRIES ARE RECEIVED 14 DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT.<br />

Grid positions will be decided by timed practice. Classes may be run concurrently at discretion of Promoting Club or cancelled depending on number of entries<br />

Non Qualifiers races may be run as necessary. 30 Riders to Qualify per class. If computer timed practice is not available, the first ten in the current<br />

championship will fill the first ten places on the grid. All competitors must have a transponder fitted.<br />

Where there are two groups and weather conditions are similar the fastest 30 overall will qualify. If the Clerk of Course deems conditions to be significantly<br />

different then 15 from each group will qualify and be placed on the grid by alternate riders from each group starting with the fastest<br />

6. ENTRIES. Entries must be made on the official entry form, completed in every detail and accompanied by the appropriate Entry Fee. Minimum deposit with<br />

entry - £40 Sterling (€50) and is non-refundable. Riders are warned that any entry received without the appropriate fee will be null and void and will be<br />

destroyed upon receipt. RECEIPT OF <strong>ENTRY</strong> WITH FEE <strong>FORM</strong>S A CONTRACT THAT IS BINDING ON BOTH PARTIES.<br />

<strong>ENTRY</strong> FEE :- £70 (€85) IF FULLY PAID AND RECEIVED BY 16/3/13 MINIMUM DEPOSIT £40(€50) NON REFUNDABLE<br />

ENTRIES RECEIVED AFTER THIS DATE WILL COST £90(€110) CHEQUES TO BE MADE PAYABLE TO:- <strong>BELFAST</strong> AND <strong>DISTRICT</strong> <strong>MOTOR</strong> <strong>CLUB</strong> LTD.<br />

No post dated cheques accepted. R.O.I COMPETITORS PLEASE ENSURE POSTAL ORDERS ARE STERLING POSTAL ORDERS.<br />

ENTRIES must be forwarded to be received by the closing date of Saturday 16th March 2013.<br />

ON ACCEPTANCE OF AN <strong>ENTRY</strong> RECEIVED COMPLETE WITH S.A.E, (NO S.A.E. NO PASSES) PASSES WILL BE SENT TO EACH RIDER AND TWO MECHANICS TO<br />

OBTAIN ADMISSION TO THE CIRCUIT . RIDERS WITHOUT THEIR PASSES WHO PAY INTO THE CIRCUIT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED THEIR TICKET MONEY. ALL<br />

OTHERS MUST PAY ADMISSION TO THE CIRCUIT. RIDERS ABUSING THIS PRIVILEGE MAY BE EXCLUDED FROM THE EVENT.<br />

7. CHANGE OF RIDER – AS MCUI GCR 102.<br />

A change of rider will also entail a change of riding number. A change of rider and machine may only be considered if applied for by original competitor/entrant<br />

and must be in writing. The competitor taking over entry will not be considered before all other competitors in said class are signed on.<br />

8. SCRUTINEERING OF MACHINE AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING.<br />

Before commencing practice, Drivers must take their machines and equipment to the Scrutineers for Inspection. Scrutineering will take place in the Paddock<br />

from 7.30 am until 9.30 am. Competition Licences must be available for inspection when signing on. Crash Helmets must bear the 2013 MCUI Stamp of Approval<br />

and the Stamp of the Club used on the day. A driver must not practice or race on any machine not Scrutineered. It is the responsibility of the Competitor to<br />

present for Scrutineering, Machine and Protective Clothing which are safe in all respects and which comply with the General Competition rules of the MCUI.<br />

9. HELMET PENALTY. An MCUI Rider using a Helmet which does not bear the current MCUI Helmet Stamp and that of the Club used on the day or has been<br />

previously rejected by a helmet Examiner or Scrutineer will receive a mandatory penalty of 30 days suspension, the entire period to be within the racing season.<br />

10. NUMBER PLATES AND RACE NUMBERS. Race Numbers and Backgrounds must comply with MCUI Standing Regulations Chapter 3<br />

11. IDENTITY DISCS. An identification Disc/SOS Card must be worn during Practice and Racing.<br />

12. ALCOHOL /DRUG as GCR 230. Licence holders will be selected for alcohol tests at random on the day of an event or practice thereof (also applies to anyone<br />

signed on). The tests will be carried out by means of breath analysis using an approved breathalyser unit. Any licence holder whose test is over 0.10g/l will be<br />

classed as a positive and incur the following penalty.<br />

A: 1st Offence one calendar month suspension. B: 2nd Offence 3 calendar month suspension. Drug testing will also be carried out at selected events.<br />

13. COURSE. The races will be held over the Kirkistown Racing Circuit which measures approximately 2.5 Kilometres per lap and is ridden clockwise. Touring on<br />

the circuit during practice or racing is not permitted. Drivers must not drive or push their machines in the reverse direction of the course unless under the<br />

instruction of an official.<br />

14A. PADDOCK. All machines must be pushed to the assembly Paddock for the start of Racing or Practising. All machines must be stopped at the paddock<br />

entrance at the end of racing or Practising. Anyone wishing to push start a machine for any reason in the Paddock area must only do so in the area designated by<br />

the Promoting Club.
