professional, age 53; Ronald is proprietor of<br />

Waddington-McLean Co.Ltd. and as such is a recognized<br />

appraiser of paintings and other <strong>work</strong>s. His special<br />

interests are Canadian and European paintings, silver<br />

and modern studio pottery.<br />

professional, age 57; A.R.I.B.A., M.R.A.I.C., Mus.Bac:<br />

We are pleased to welcome Donald back to the Arts and<br />

Letters Club after a 6-year absence. In addition to<br />

his activities as a professional architect, Doabld is<br />

a sculptor member and past vice president of the Ontario<br />

Society of Artists.<br />

member, age 46; Mike is a corporate secretary and has<br />

considerable experience in the design of commercial<br />

forms and brochures. He enjoys painting and sketching<br />

and has performed as a principal in the Dominion Drama<br />

Festival.<br />

member, age 47; B.A.Sc. : Michael, an electrical<br />

engineer, is resource utilization coordination engineer<br />

with the Power System Operations Division of the Ontaric<br />

Hydro. Michael is past president of the Association<br />

of Community <strong>The</strong>atres, a past president of <strong>The</strong>atre<br />

Ontario and is president of Arts Etobicoke. His<br />

special interests are stage lighting, set construction<br />

and stage management and we look forward to his<br />

participation in the Spring Show.<br />

member, age 69: Jim, a retired banker, is an active<br />

landscape and figure painter. He has exhibited with<br />

the Royal Canadian Academy and the Canadian Society<br />

of Painters in Water Colour and is vice president of<br />

the Art Guild of Scarborough. In addition to painting<br />

Jim enjoys photography and acting.<br />

<strong>The</strong>se seven are additional to the 14 recent new members<br />

who were welcomed to the club at a special luncheon on<br />

November 17. <strong>The</strong> wit and urbanity of the luncheon<br />

host, President Pat Hume, made the introductions not<br />

only relaxed, but also one of the delights of the<br />

club t s autumn calendar.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Chamber Players opened their tenth anniversary<br />

season by performing at a club Ladies Night on October<br />

19. It was also their first concert under their new<br />

musical director, Miss Marta Hidy. If all their<br />

concerts come up to the standard of what they offered<br />

the club, we are sure they will more than maintain<br />

the enviable reputation they have held in the past.<br />

Except for a Mozart encore, the entire program was<br />

drawn from <strong>work</strong>s of the late 19th and 20th century --<br />

somewhat of a departure from previous programs which<br />

usually contained earlier <strong>work</strong>s. <strong>The</strong> program was as<br />

follows:<br />
