Seth Littrell, Offensive Coordinator
Tight Ends/H-Backs Coach
Year in Coaching: Eighth
Year at Arizona: Third
Littrell was promoted in the offseason to
offensive coordinator after a season sharing duties
as co-coordinator in 2010.
He joined the UA staff in February 2009
to coach tight ends, running backs and fullbacks,
and in 2011 will focus on the coordinator post and
the tight ends/H-backs.
He brought familiarity with Mike Stoops
from his playing days at Oklahoma and
connections to UA's offensive schemes as an
assistant at Texas Tech. His tenure at Tech put
him at the forefront of wide-open spread-offense football under then
head coach and offensive coordinator Mike Leach.
Last year Littrell helped craft an attack that rated No. 3 in the
Pac-10 in accumulating 439 yards per game, the third-best total in
Arizona history.
Littrell played on a national championship club in 2000, so
familiarity with winning football has been a cornerstone of his young
coaching career. He also has established himself as a solid recruiter.
Littrell and his wife, Becca, were married in July 2007. They
have an infant son, James Tripp Littrell.
fumbles in a combined 406 touches
• Coached UA’s running backs Nic Grigsby and Keola Antolin to a
combined 6.2 yards per tote in accumulating 1,200 yards and nine
scores in 2009. They were nabbed behind the line for only 20
combined lost yards in downhill running.
• Coached effective ball security with Grigsby improving to zero
fumbles in 2009 and all backs losing only three in a combined 369
touches.
• Helped develop A.J. Simmons and H-backs Chris Gronkowksi and
Taimi Tutogi into effective components of the UA running attack which
finished a respectable fifth in the Pac-10 in rushing despite lost time by
backs.
• Coached a pair of running backs at Texas Tech in 2008 who put up
numbers similar to Arizona’s output from Grigsby and Antolin, with
Baron Batch and Shannon Woods combining for 1,435 yards and 19
