C.S. and Marion F. McIntyre Memorial Scholarship<br />

Established by the C.S. and Marion F. McIntyre Foundation in July 2000, this scholarship is intended <strong>to</strong> assist full-time<br />

students who plan <strong>to</strong> transfer <strong>to</strong> a four-year college or university and complete a baccalaureate degree. The C.S. and<br />

Marion F. McIntyre Memorial Scholarship was established <strong>to</strong> honor Charles S. and Marion F. McIntyre, the individuals<br />

responsible for establishing the foundation whose primary purpose is charitable giving in the <strong>Monroe</strong> area with an<br />

emphasis on higher education.<br />

<strong>Monroe</strong> <strong>County</strong> Community College Alumni Association Scholarship<br />

Established by the <strong>Monroe</strong> <strong>County</strong> Community College Alumni Association Board of Direc<strong>to</strong>rs with the intent <strong>to</strong> help<br />

those students who fall through the “financial aid cracks,” this scholarship is not based on financial need and is for<br />

those students at MCCC who have proven their commitment <strong>to</strong> the pursuit of a higher education.<br />

Robbin Ramage Memorial Scholarship<br />

In honor of her commitment <strong>to</strong> the importance of higher education, this scholarship was established by the Ramage<br />

Trust Fund <strong>to</strong> assist other MCCC students in achieving their academic goals.<br />

C. Ernest Read Scholarship<br />

The Read Scholarship Trust was established by the MCCC Board of Trustees through a generous donation from the<br />

Read Estate <strong>to</strong> benefit sophomore students at MCCC who have made significant contributions <strong>to</strong> campus life during<br />

their freshman year. Mr. Read was chief engineer at the <strong>Monroe</strong> Au<strong>to</strong> Equipment Company until he retired in 1969 and<br />

was actively involved in the early stages of campus planning for the College. He served on the committee that compiled<br />

the initial guidelines for its development.<br />

Drew Reeves Memorial Scholarship<br />

This scholarship was established <strong>to</strong> provide a tangible and lasting means by which <strong>to</strong> remember Drew Reeves, an<br />

assistant professor in the Industrial Technology Division at <strong>Monroe</strong> <strong>County</strong> Community College. The Drew Reeves<br />

Memorial Scholarship benefits students majoring in Au<strong>to</strong>motive Engineering Technology.<br />

Pearl Quermbach Memorial Scholarship<br />

Established by family and friends of Pearl Quermbach, this scholarship is intended <strong>to</strong> assist students who do not have<br />

the financial means <strong>to</strong> attend college.<br />

Golf Outing Continues Its<br />

Record of Success<br />

The Seventh Annual <strong>Monroe</strong> <strong>County</strong> Community<br />

College Alumni Scholarship Golf Outing was held on<br />

Friday, September 7 at The Carring<strong>to</strong>n Golf Club in <strong>Monroe</strong>.<br />

Participants helped <strong>to</strong> raise $6,800 for the scholarship<br />

fund<strong>–</strong>an all-time high for funds raised at the event. The<br />

2002 outing is planned for Friday, September 6.<br />
