U16‐17 INFERNO FC PROSPECTUS
SUMMARY: The Neenah Inferno FC is entering its 4 th year of competitive play. For the 2012 season League and Tournament play
will be emphasized, with a commitment to field the best players and team. With many current participants now involved in winter
and spring High School sports and activities, the team acknowledges the complexity of player schedules and will provide elective
training opportunities. It is our expectation that players who take full advantage of the team’s training opportunities will experience
faster improvement on the field.
In addition, team tryouts will be opened to both U16 and U17 players in an effort to improve the opportunities for competition.
Based on attendance and results of the tryouts, the team will reserve the right to play as either a U16 team or as a U17 team in
league and tournament play in 2012.
TRYOUT DATE: 6:30 pm Thursday June 30 at Lakeview Elementary School in Neenah
TEAM GOALS: The INFERNO has established the following goals:
1. To continue to reinforce in the Inferno players a love of the game of soccer
2. To help our players grow as young men, by instilling and encouraging their ability to compete successfully in a testing
environment both as individuals and as a team, while demanding respect for each other, opponents and referees;
3. To improve significantly every player’s individual soccer technical skills and tactical skills in order to improve significantly as
a soccer team.
TEAM PROFILE: The INFERNO consists of players and coaches who have a commitment to the game, and who appreciate the
opportunity to compete as individuals and as a team.
TEAM STAFF: The INFERNO has a staff with impressive backgrounds, with proven ability to guide young players both in soccer skills
and life skills.
TEAM TRAINING SCHEDULE: Recognizing the complexities of schedules of high school athletes and scholars, the INFERNO will offer
optional training rather than mandatory training as it has in the past. Training sessions will be available on Sunday and Thursday
nights and are opportunities to improve a player’s game. The training is fee based, and players will need to commit to sessions they
plan to attend in the coming month so that the per player fees can be determined and collected. Although participation in games is
not dependent on participation in training, it is the clear expectation of the team that players who take advantage of the training will
see the results on the field.
INDOOR LEAGUE PLAY: The INFERNO will offer an opportunity to play in the winter (January to March) sessions at Soccer Heaven in
Appleton. If the team plays as a U17 team, games will be Saturday mornings.
OUTDOOR LEAGUE PLAY: The INFERNO will apply to play at the highest level appropriate given the players historical play.
TOURNAMENTS: The INFERNO will compete in one indoor winter tournament and compete in at least 3 local tournaments during
the season. We also intend to play in one summer tournament after the completion of the season.
PLAYING TIME: All players will always play in every game attended. Players should expect their playing time to be dependent on
their achieved level of skill and their contribution to the team’s ability to compete – all games will be played to win! The INFERNO is
providing an opportunity for all of its players to achieve their best level of success, and the commitment they make to these training
opportunities is expected to be reflected in their playing time on the pitch.
TEAM FEES: INFERNO fees will depend on the total number of rostered players, but it expected the fees to cover training, winter
tournament, indoor practice facility, and indoor league play will be approximately $125 per player PLUS any club fees plus approved
uniforms (new uniforms are required for 2012). This does NOT include the cost of elective training or the summer tournament,
which cost will be determined at a later time when the INFERNO selects the tournament.
TEAM UNITY: The INFERNO will have several opportunities to bond and grow outside of soccer by a fall and spring team activity:
the players on the team will challenge the Coach, Trainer and Parents to a paintball war. Other team unity activities will be
considered, as we work to achieve a bond between the players will be reflected in their competitive play.
TEAM MEETING: Once the INFERNO is formed, we will schedule a picnic for players and parents where we will discuss next year’s
plans, answer questions, and develop schedules.
