Formed shortly after World War II, Delta
Consolidated Industries made storage silos for the
many farms in the Mississippi River delta area.
In response to customer requests, the
company used its metal working experience to
build tool storage boxes for their trucks. As more truck owners saw these first truck boxes, the demand
for them quickly outgrew orders for the silos.
The company expanded its selection of the truck boxes and started selling the first commerciallyproduced
truck boxes. It had created an entirely new product category.
