• factors of 6 = 1,2,3,6<br />

• factors of 8 = 1,2,4,8<br />

Greatest common factor = 2<br />

Remember: divide both the denominator and numerator by 2.<br />

1. 12/15 factors of 12 = 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12 factors of 15 = 1, 3, 5, 15<br />

Greatest common factor = 3<br />

2. 25/30 factors of 25 = 1, 5, 25 factors of 30 = 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 30<br />

Greatest common factor = 5<br />
