The first issue of SKMC PULSE
The Strategy and Marketing Department at
Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) is proud to
launch the new corporate magazine “SKMC
PULSE”.
SKMC Pulse is a quarterly magazine aimed at
bringing you recent updates on developments
at SKMC. SKMC PULSE brings you regular health
information and updates on treatments to raise
awareness on different health topics throughout
the year.
Each quarter, we will cover activities that occurred
at SKMC in the previous quarter. During the fourth
quarter of 2008, one of our health campaigns
was the World Heart Day which was celebrated
from 8-10 October 2008; hence HEART is the
focus of this issue.
Based on statistics, cardiovascular diseases are
among the leading causes of death in UAE and
comprise 29% of total global deaths. Being
the Center of Excellence in the Emirate of Abu
Dhabi, our Institute of Cardiac Sciences offers a
wide range of services coupled with high end
technologies. You will find articles on how to
keep a healthy heart, research as well as tips on
healthy diets.
