Inam Y. Siddiqui, General Counsel, GE Oil & Gas for MENAT region<br />

Inam provides advice, support and training to the business on a wide range of<br />

issues, including commercial contract drafting, compliance matters, internal<br />

investigations, employment, legal entity management, corporate governance<br />

and commercial disputes. When he was in private practice with Clifford Chance,<br />

he represented multinational companies in several international arbitrations,<br />

including a significant case involving European and Middle Eastern government<br />

bodies in dispute over a major military purchase.<br />

Sameer Huda, Head of Corporate, Hadef & Partners<br />

Sameer heads our Corporate, M&A and Private Equity teams in Dubai. He advises clients<br />

on all aspects of M&A, private equity and general corporate and commercial work.<br />

Known for his strong problem solving skills, Sameer works directly with clients to<br />

ensure that transactions are well structured at the outset from both a strategic<br />

and commercial perspective to achieve their commercial objectives. Sameer has<br />

played a major role in many of the UAE’s innovative and challenging transactions<br />

and is noted in directories as a market leader.<br />

Sameer trained with Denton Wilde Sapte and was previously within the corporate<br />

department of Eversheds LLP in London. He holds a BSc (Hons) Mathematics with<br />

Management from Imperial College, United Kingdom, a Common Professional<br />

Examination has completed the Legal Practice Course, both from the College of<br />

Law, United Kingdom, and has been admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of<br />

England and Wales since 1998. Sameer is an Officer of the Corporate Law Section<br />

of the International Bar Association.<br />

Melissa Quai Currie, Partner, Hadef & Partners<br />

Melissa is a Partner in our Dispute Resolution team advising on commercial disputes.<br />

She has specialised in complex, often cross-border, arbitration and litigation. She<br />

has worked in London, Moscow, Perth and Dubai on many multi-jurisdictional<br />

disputes and is experienced in resolving disputes in emerging markets.<br />

Melissa has acted for major international corporations and banks in commercial,<br />

corporate, real estate, investment, finance and energy & resources (including<br />

commodity pricing) disputes.<br />

Her international arbitration experience includes representing clients in ad hoc<br />

and institutional arbitrations. She has represented clients in arbitrations under<br />

the LCIA, ICC, DIAC, SCC and UNCITRAL Rules.<br />

Melissa has assisted clients with interim injunctions sought in support of<br />

arbitrations as well as injunctions sought in offshore jurisdictions.<br />

Prior to joining Hadef & Partners Melissa was a Senior Associate with Clifford<br />

Chance’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice in Moscow and Perth.<br />

She is admitted to practice in England & Wales and Australia (the High Court and<br />

Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Western Australia).<br />

Pierre Heitzmann, Of Counsel, Jones Day<br />

Pierre Heitzmann is Of Counsel in the Dubai office of Jones Day. Trained in civil and<br />

common law jurisdictions, his main area of practice is international arbitration.<br />

Over the last 20 years, he has acted as arbitrator and counsel in many international<br />

arbitration proceedings including but not limited to ICC, DIAC, SCC, and UNCITRAL<br />

proceedings involving private companies, sovereigns, and state-owned entities<br />

and mainly arising out of construction contracts, energy supply agreements,<br />

license agreements, post-merger and acquisition disputes, shareholders’ and<br />

joint venture agreements, agreements for the sale of goods, agency agreement,<br />

distribution agreements. Pierre is registered with the Paris Bar, as foreign legal<br />

consultant in Dubai and as a DIFC Courts Registered Practitioner (Part 2). The Legal<br />

500 has described Pierre as a ‘very reactive and tenacious’ attorney, showing a<br />

‘deep understanding of the financial and technical elements in a case’ combined<br />

with ‘good pleading and cross-examination skills’.
