Young People & <strong>Parish</strong>: We thank the<br />

Advent. This week, students from St.<br />

Flannan’s College have prepared the<br />

music & Liturgy.<br />

Topic: Women in the Church - Facing<br />

the Issues. Speaker: Colette Stevenson -<br />

a Presentation Sister, teacher, marriage<br />

and family therapist - she now works in<br />

child-safeguarding for the Church.<br />

<strong>Ennis</strong> <strong>Parish</strong> Christmas Project<br />

A Triduum of Masses will be offered in<br />

<strong>Ennis</strong> <strong>Parish</strong> on Christmas Day for your<br />

intentions. Triduum Cards available from<br />

<strong>Parish</strong> Office.<br />

Cloughleigh: 11am<br />

St. Josephs: 11.30am<br />

<strong>Parish</strong> Christmas Cards are now available.<br />

Molloy’s Mission in Equador.<br />

People of the Year<br />

Many people are working in a voluntary<br />

capacity (often unnoticed), giving of their time<br />

and energy in the service of others and<br />

enriching our community. Some years ago the<br />

Pastoral Council decided to acknowledge their<br />

contributions and awards have been presented<br />

to worthy participants for the past number of<br />

years.<br />

If you know of someone who you feel would be<br />

worthy of such recognition, we would<br />

appreciate your nominating them.<br />

Nominations to be sent to the <strong>Parish</strong> Office and<br />

should include some information about the<br />

person being nominated and a brief outline of<br />

the reasons for the nomination.<br />

Colaiste Musical 1st - 4th December<br />

(25th year)<br />

It’s all hands on deck for 120 students<br />

of Colaiste Muire at the moment. They<br />

are working flat out to bring the Cole Porter<br />

musical Anything Goes to the <strong>Ennis</strong> stage in<br />

Danlann an Chlair, Colaiste Muire, from the 1 st<br />

to the 4 th Dec. Cole Porter music and lyrics.<br />

The story concerns madcap antics aboard an<br />

ocean liner bound from New York to London.<br />

Classic songs such as Anything Goes, You're<br />

the Top, It’s De-Lovely and I get a Kick out of<br />

You will make for a memorable evening.<br />

Fr. Tom Burke<br />

1934-2010<br />

Fr. Tom died on Wednesday 17th November,<br />

having served as priest for 51 years.<br />

He was a native of Connolly, where he was<br />

born on December 27th 1934. Educated in St.<br />

Flannan’s College & Carlow. He served in<br />

Florida, Bournea, Ballywilliam, Coolderry &<br />

Newmarket-on-Fergus before being appointed<br />

<strong>Parish</strong> Priest in Dysart & Ruan in 1992. His ill<br />

health required him to retire to Carrigoran<br />

Nursing Home.<br />
