Advent Giving Tree
Please place under the tree any of the

organisations who work with
our town’s needy this Advent:
Tea, coffee, sugar, tayto,
selection boxes, minerals,
biscuits, soup, jam, baked beans,
cornflakes, custard, peas, crackers,
shampoo, toilet rolls, tinned fruit.
Gospel Reflections for Sundays of
Advent in Cathedral House at 8pm, each
Thursday.
Young People & Parish: We thank the
young people and their teachers from the
various second level schools in the Parish,
for their involvement in the Sunday Liturgy
at 10.30am in The Cathedral during
Advent. This week, students from St.
Flannan’s College have prepared the
music & Liturgy.

the Issues. Speaker: Colette Stevenson -
a Presentation Sister, teacher, marriage
and family therapist - she now works in
child-safeguarding for the Church.
Ennis Parish Christmas Project
A Triduum of Masses will be offered in
Ennis Parish on Christmas Day for your
intentions. Triduum Cards available from
Parish Office.
Times of Triduum Masses:
Ennis Cathedral: 10.30am
Cloughleigh: 11am
St. Josephs: 11.30am
Parish Christmas Cards are now available.
Proceeds from cards go towards Fr. John
Molloy’s Mission in Equador.
People of the Year
Many people are working in a voluntary
capacity (often unnoticed), giving of their time
and energy in the service of others and
enriching our community. Some years ago the
Pastoral Council decided to acknowledge their
contributions and awards have been presented
to worthy participants for the past number of
years.
If you know of someone who you feel would be
worthy of such recognition, we would
appreciate your nominating them.
Nominations to be sent to the Parish Office and
should include some information about the
person being nominated and a brief outline of
the reasons for the nomination.

Colaiste Musical 1st - 4th December
(25th year)
It’s all hands on deck for 120 students
of Colaiste Muire at the moment. They
are working flat out to bring the Cole Porter
musical Anything Goes to the Ennis stage in
Danlann an Chlair, Colaiste Muire, from the 1 st
to the 4 th Dec. Cole Porter music and lyrics.
The story concerns madcap antics aboard an
ocean liner bound from New York to London.
Classic songs such as Anything Goes, You're
the Top, It’s De-Lovely and I get a Kick out of
You will make for a memorable evening.

Fr. Tom Burke
1934-2010
Fr. Tom died on Wednesday 17th November,
having served as priest for 51 years.
He was a native of Connolly, where he was
born on December 27th 1934. Educated in St.
Flannan’s College & Carlow. He served in
Florida, Bournea, Ballywilliam, Coolderry &
Newmarket-on-Fergus before being appointed
Parish Priest in Dysart & Ruan in 1992. His ill
health required him to retire to Carrigoran
Nursing Home.

her musician sons, Eoin and Mícháel Ó
