In 2003 when Gänserndorf Safari Park looked after the chimpanzees, Lingoa arrived
at the monkey house from a German outdoor park. She is blind in one eye. She
was introduced to the Moritz Group in 2006 as a ward of Anton the chimp. Gradually,
she has made friends in the group – Xsara und Bonnie. But she’s also put out
feelers to the top ranks. She tries to win acceptance from Moritz and Alfred. On the
day the gates were opened for the very first time, she was brilliant. She practised
daring walks on a suspended beam. Moritz and Alfred seemed really impressed.
