Fugitive war criminal Ratko Mladic, Serb, is captured in<br />
Serbia, after many years in hiding <strong>the</strong>re. Although<br />
Ratko Mladic began his war crimes in <strong>Croatia</strong> in early<br />
to late 1991 (e.g. leading Serbian troops around<br />
Krajina/Knin, bombarding Zadar, Skabrnje massacres<br />
...) <strong>the</strong> ICTY in <strong>the</strong> Hague omits to issue indictments for<br />
those alleged crimes in <strong>Croatia</strong>. ICTY indicts him<br />
(1995, 2002, 2011) for war crimes, mass murders (eg<br />
Srebrenica) and extermination <strong>of</strong> Croats and Muslims<br />
in Bosnia & Herzegovina (1992 – 1995), joint criminal<br />
enterprise to permanently remove <strong>Croatia</strong>ns and<br />
Muslims from territory claimed as Serbian Republic<br />
within Bosnia & Herzegovina.<br />
<strong>Croatia</strong>n government prosecutor had in 2003 sent to<br />
Hague <strong>the</strong> conviction <strong>of</strong> 20 years imprisonment for war<br />
crimes committed by Ratko Mladic (1991) delivered by<br />
Sibenik court in 1992 in <strong>Croatia</strong>; also criminal charges<br />
against Mladic from 1995/Split.<br />
2011 June - <strong>Croatia</strong> successfully completes EU<br />
accession negotiations, putting it on track to become<br />
<strong>the</strong> 28th member state in mid-2013.<br />
2011 – June-The European Commission says <strong>Croatia</strong><br />
has met all <strong>the</strong> criteria for completion <strong>of</strong> EU entry talks,<br />
including <strong>the</strong> toughest chapters on reforming <strong>the</strong><br />
judiciary and competition policy.<br />
It proposes that <strong>Croatia</strong> becomes a member on July 1,<br />
