It’s been almost a
year since we set
up shop in the new
office. Prospective
students and their
parents are greeted
with a contemporary and professional
atmosphere. Another benefit is that the
building better accommodates technology
that allows us to work for the cadets in a
more efficient and timely manner. It has
been a smooth transition and we continue
to work closely with students for summer
travel. Cadets are going everywhere, from
Ft. Lewis, WA, Hawaii, Louisiana, Ft. Knox,
Ft. Campbell and all points in between!
Work also continues with the parents and
students that will be joining us in the fall.
This is always a rewarding time of year.

As the Spring 2009
semester has ended,
it’s time to reflect and
dream. On April 11 th I
completed four years
of service with PSU
ROTC. During that
time I have witnessed
many spectacular conversions from timid and
fragile MSIs into qualified and bona fide Army
leaders. I am sure there is a certain amount of
jealously regarding our preparation of leaders
as they assimilate into the Army and beyond.
The job placement prospect that is presented
to our 2 nd Lieutenants is outstanding. When
accepting this job I was told of plans to move
into a new building. ROTC had been settled
in Hartman Hall for over 50 years. The new
building is a tremendous asset to Pitt State and
ROTC. We purchased a conex storage unit
so that some items could be stored outdoors.
I had a vision as to how I wanted the supply
room to look, function, and feel. To an extent
I have accomplished this. All alumni, former
cadets, and families should try to visit our new
department.
