What to Wear for the Interview
Women
Choose business clothes that fit and flatter your body type.
Keep your hair neat and styled. A disheveled look will hurt your chances for the scholarship.
Wear daytime make up - not too heavy and definitely no glitter. Lipstick is optional but if you
want to wear it, choose natural colours. Keep fragrances to a minimum as well.
Jewelry and accessories can help but remember to keep it minimal, too. This is a scholarship
interview, so you need to shine and not your attire.
Men
Select a simple crisp business shirt, a matching tie, a pair of shoes and pants that can make you look
and feel good. Because of our Malaysian weather, wearing a jacket may make you uncomfortable,
which will be an unwelcomed addition to your stress. Alternatively, you can bring the jacket along and
wear it moments before the interview. Generally, most interviewers are understanding and would not
expect you to wear a jacket.
Make sure you look professional and not sluggish – ensure your shirt is crease-free!
No piercings and be clean shaven.
Clean nails, teeth and no bad breath.
Finally…
Be early. Arrive at the venue at least 20 minutes in advance to give yourself time to freshen up
at the restroom and you will not have added stress because you were rushing for time.
Be polite to everyone you meet. The interviewers can gauge someone by how that person
treats people, including the receptionist and the cleaner.
