when and where were you born
May 29, 1961, in upstate New York.
where did you attend university
The Cooper Union, in New York City.
where do you currently live
New York City and Bellport, Long Island.
do you have any pets
I have two dogs, a Maltese named Elcy Jones and a
Cairn terrier, Totie O’Hara, and a blue point Siamese
cat named Esmeralda. Through many generations of
pets, I have had pairs of these two dogs together. And
I’ve always had the cat with them.
what is the name of your design business
My business is the Thomas O’Brien Company. My
design office is Aero Studios, and my store, which is a
retail space in front of the studio, is also called Aero.

What is your favorite...
holiday destination
London, Los Angeles, my country house.
clothing designer
Ralph Lauren.
restaurant
Ed’s Lobster Bar, in Soho on Lafayette Street, one
block from my office.
store
There are always my favorite antique shops that I
visit. But I also like to go to Muji in Soho, a wonderful,
Japanese, modern design general store.
candle
Diptique Bais, a mix of black currant leaves and Bulgarian
roses.

Livio Felluga Pinot Grigio.
