The SZABIST
Executive
Development
ensures that
SZABITians
are groomed
for taking on
challenging
corporate
roles in their
professi on al lives. It channeli ses the hiring of SZABI S T graduates in
reputed firms when recruitment efforts are launched. To ensure
that these graduates succeed in the corporate sector, EDC takes
a number of initiatives.
It has instituted the annual student development workshop titled
‘Corporate Finesse Workshop’; an annual interactive event for
students to network with potential employers titled ‘Job Fair’; and
‘Mock Interviews’ for senior students. All three events provide
career counseling to graduating students and prepare them for
the corporate screening process and subsequent career success.
The EDC also maintains a comprehensive database of SZABIST
alumni to keep their employment status up-to-date. They are
engaged throughout the year through different events and social
media activiti es. An alum is regul arly invited for mentori n g sessi ons
on the ‘Alumni Ambassador Show’ broadcasted on ZABFM 106.6,
whereas inviting alumni as guest speakers and trainers in conferences
and workshops for students is a norm. While in cyberspace,
EDC’s Facebook page provides a platform to streamline interaction
amongst SZABIST’s fresh and old graduates, in the physical
world, an alumni reunion is organised annually to facilitate regular
interaction between the alumni and students so that SZABISTians
gain access to jobs that are never advertised.
