The <strong>Cumberland</strong> Arts Academy is a school of fine arts<br />
for students of all ages, but focusing on those of school<br />
age. It is a branch of the School of Music and Arts of<br />
<strong>Cumberland</strong> <strong>University</strong>. The Academy offers a variety<br />
of private and group instruction classes in music, art<br />
and drama.<br />
In addition to its educational aims, the Academy also<br />
sponsors recitals and concerts, including the Jazz Fest,<br />
an annual event that brings over 200 area high school<br />
students to perform at the university.<br />
The Academy is housed at 311 West Spring Street,<br />
across from the June & Bill Heydel Fine Arts Center,<br />
and has several studios and group rehearsal rooms<br />
specially designed to meet the needs of our curriculum.<br />
The faculty members of the <strong>Cumberland</strong> Arts Academy<br />
are highly credentialed in their fields, and several<br />
instructors also serve as professors at <strong>Cumberland</strong><br />
<strong>University</strong>.<br />

enter the front doors.<br />
Parking: The driveway of the academy is<br />
shared by three property-owners. Please<br />
enter the driveway slowly as small children<br />
are often present. Do not park on the<br />
neighbor’s side of the driveway or block the<br />
entrance to the driveway that continues onto<br />
the property behind us. If the parking lot is<br />
full, there are additional parking spaces<br />
directly across the street on the university’s<br />
campus that are available to students and<br />
instructors of the academy.<br />
Inclement Weather Closings: The<br />
academy rarely closes for inclement weather.<br />
If it does close announcements of the<br />
closings, or delayed times of opening, will be<br />
on the local news s channels 2, 4, and 5. The<br />
instructor will contact each student if the<br />
lesson is canceled.<br />
