Class of 1961
The Class of 1961 celebrated Bishop
O’Connell’s first 50-year reunion. The
celebration began on June 2 when the ’61
graduates were invited to join the class
of 2011 at the National Shrine for their
graduation. Following the graduation
ceremony, there was a special reception
on the campus of Catholic University for
those 1961 graduates.
The fun continued on Friday night with
a class party at the Key Bridge Marriott.
Some of the alumni from the class of 1961
had not seen their classmates in 50 years!
The main event took place on Saturday
night back in the DJO cafeteria. Over 90
alumni from 1961 were joined by family and
friends from the class of 1962 for an evening
of fun and fellowship. The DJ played
some of their favorite songs from their high
school days and the classmates reminisced
over old pictures and memories. The class
also planned a small memorial for those
classmates that had passed away.
The weekend ended at the All-Alumni Reunion
Mass and Brunch in the O’Connell
chapel and cafeteria. Deacon Jim Fishenden
and Dennis Dwyer both ’61 grads
served as readers.

Organizes
Fundraiser
On Monday, May 23 at Public House
No. 7, the class of 1995 hosted a
fundraiser for classmate Jason Cage.
They raised over $3,000 that night
and through online donations from
those who couldn’t come to the event.
The event was sponsored by Driven,
Inc. and Koons of Annapolis.
