Choosing the correct child car seat
When is it time for a new child car seat?
As your child grows older, their weight also increases. Once your
child exceeds the weight category for their seat, it is time to buy the
next category of car seat. The weight group is stated on the orange
approval mark on the car seat. In addition to weight, the length of
your child is obviously important as well. It is time to switch to a larger
car seat:
• When your baby is in the Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix or Creatis.Fix, the top of
their head protrudes above the edge.
• With car seats for children ages 9 months to approx. 3.5 years,
your child’s shoulders protrude above the upper seat belt openings.
• If your child is taller than 1.35m (1.50m in the Republic of
Ireland), they no longer needs to travel in a car seat.
Car seats from Maxi-Cosi are divided into groups based on the weight
