touring
Low Angle: The most common touring paddling style. Paddle is kept at a low angle relative
to the water and a relaxed stoke is used. Longer, narrower blades offer power and smooth
forward strokes. (See top of pgs. 11, 13, 15, 17)
High Angle: Best for straight ahead efficiency and maneuvering strokes. Paddle
is kept at a high angle relative to the water and a more active stroke is used.
(See bottom of pgs. 11, 13, 15, 17)
whitewater
River Running and Creeking: Enjoy running a favorite river or steep and technical creek
and catching waves on the fly. Balanced blade design is smooth and powerful from catch
to release. (See top of pgs. 21, 23, 25, 27)
Playboating: Freestyle moves, throwing ends, getting vertical or making up a new move.
Down turned blades have a powerful catch that responds and releases on demand. (See
bottom of pgs. 21, 23, 25)
stand up
Touring: Enjoy flatwater paddling on the ocean, lakes or gentle moving rivers.
Tear drop blade and spooned tip increase straight ahead efficiency. (See top of pg. 31)
Surfing: Stoked on surfing waves wherever they might be found. Longer, more
slender blade is better for dynamic surfing and turning. (See bottom of pg. 31)
You guys make the best paddles there are today. They are very strong and are designed amazingly well
to get a good stroke every time. Mine has held up very well and it has been on a lot of rivers with me. I
recommend your paddles to everyone that I go with and when I let them try mine they love it and most of
them have bought one for themselves. Thank you for doing such a great job with your products. Keep it
up. — Lucas Rietmann
I can’t say “thank you” enough to the team at Werner. I’m telling everyone I know about what fantastic
service you all offer and letting them know that I’m one happy and loyal customer. To date, we have
purchased 7 Werner paddles. The 8th paddle will be coming soon. We wouldn’t consider paddling
anything but Werner. You guys are AWESOME! — Deborah Chandler
I have been using Werner Paddles for about 15 years and would like to say thanks! These paddles have
never let me down! I have broken/lost many paddles on the creeks and rivers of the Southeast but never a
Werner. I began kayaking in 1983 at 12 years old with a paddle that weighed about 50lbs, so I have seen
several companies come and go. I’m glad Werner is still alive and well!
I just recently purchased my first [performance] foam core, a Stikine. WOW! What a paddle! Most of my
peers have long since converted but since my good old Freestyle was still bomber I was slow to follow.
Once again thank you for making such fantastic products! I look forward to many good years ahead with
my Stikine. — Chris Massey
